Choosing a Practitioner

Tips for choosing a practitioner who is right for you:
  • Choose the provider whose sex, age, and training suits you best.
  • Choose the provider whose education and training fits with your needs. Don’t hesitate to ask about education, training, areas of specialty, and outcomes.
  • Be sure to check with a provider's clients and with other providers in the area before making your decision.
  • Ask if a prospective physician is board certified, which means the physician has passed a comprehensive examination given by other doctors in his or her specialty.
